In recent weeks, major ports like Fujairah, Singapore and Hong Kong have banned crew changes or the movement of sailors who have recently traveled to India and other countries on the subcontinent.

Hojgaard called for the priority vaccination of seafarers and for ports to allow rotation of vaccinated crews.
